Vandalism creates real risk for public street furniture and Digital Out-of-Home networks. BoldVu® by MRI stays several steps ahead. With 21+ years and 27,000+ deployments, we have seen almost everything. Displays have faced vehicle impacts, tire irons, acid etching, graffiti, and even gunshots. Every BoldVu® display includes anti-vandalism technology and smart reporting. These features help reduce damage, downtime, and service costs.

ShockVu™ – Real-Time Impact Detection

Each BoldVu® display uses internal MEMS sensors to detect physical shock. When impact occurs, ShockVu™ sends an instant alert. The display can also “play dead” for a few minutes. This response can make vandals think they succeeded and move on. SmartVu® immediately notifies MRI and the customer’s NOC for quick follow-up.

ToughVu® – Bullet-Resistant, IK10 Certified Glass

ToughVu® gives BoldVu® displays serious screen protection. The glass uses a laminated stack of anti-reflective sheets at least 12.9mm thick. It carries IK10 certification and resists blunt force, acid etching, and small-caliber gunfire. Its titanium oxide outer coating resists aggressive solvents like MEK and acetone. As a result, crews can clean graffiti more easily. If the glass breaks, the laminated design helps prevent shattering. It also keeps the internal display protected and sealed.

ClipVu™ – Easy, Field-Friendly Glass Replacement

ClipVu™ debuts in 2025 and makes broken glass replacement faster and less expensive. Instead of bonding glass to the frame, ClipVu™ secures it with internal clips. Technicians can swap the door assembly on-site with four retaining nuts. Then, teams can refurbish broken assemblies locally and redeploy them. This process helps reduce downtime and repair costs.

SealVu® – Continuous Environmental Monitoring

SealVu® monitors internal air pressure against outdoor barometric conditions 24/7. If damage compromises the display, SmartVu® sends alerts immediately. Shattered glass, drilled holes, and pried doors can all trigger alerts. These notifications help teams address problems before more damage occurs.

LockVu® – Door Status Verification

LockVu® uses a triple-sensor system to verify each access door. It confirms that each door closes and latches correctly. If someone leaves a door open, SmartVu® notifies the right teams. If someone forces a door open, SmartVu® sends an alert. These alerts help reduce exposure to weather, tampering, and internal damage. tampering.

Non-Bonded Glass – Lower Heat, Lower Cost

MRI stopped optically bonding glass to LCDs in 2008. Bonded displays run hotter and create greater risk for LCD damage. That damage can include browning, black streaks, and LCD seal failure. Bonded displays also cost more to repair after vandalism. Our non-bonded approach helps lower internal temperatures. It also makes vandalism repairs more cost-effective.

Durable Exterior Finishes – Rust-Free, Long-Lasting

BoldVu® displays use AAMA 2605-certified powder coating for long-term outdoor durability. Customers can also choose optional brushed stainless-steel cladding. We build internal components from stainless steel and aluminum. That means no rust-prone internal materials. Crews can also touch up cosmetic chips or dings on-site with color-matched paint.

Built to Endure, Designed to Recover

Vandalism cannot always be prevented. However, BoldVu® displays can withstand abuse, report damage, and recover quickly. Our systems detect impacts and tampering right away. They also stay online longer and support easier field service. With 99% uptime, lower TCO, and 17 generations of field evolution, BoldVu® sets a high durability standard.
